Spirit of
Yorkshire Distillery
The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery believe in doing things properly, as is the Yorkshire way. They’re obsessed with every step of the growing and distilling process, from field to bottle. They define each part of the whisky creation process themselves. They choose the variety of barley based on quality alone. They farm the barley sustainably, leading the way with progressive farming techniques. They use 100% homegrown Yorkshire barley in their Yorkshire whisky. And they distill based on their senses - by hand, nose and palate. Their casks are sourced from the very best cooperages around the world, ensuring the maturation is of the same quality as the spirit. Mentored by the late and great whisky expert Dr Jim Swan, Spirit of Yorkshire follow their instincts - creating whiskies that don’t just replicate scotch. Instead, they take the best of tradition and apply new thinking to create something that's unique, something that's their own: Filey Bay whisky.
Domaine
De Villeneuve
Domaine de Villeneuve is a small estate situated in the northern sector of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estates vineyards border Château Beaucastel on one side, and Mont-Redon on the other. Using bio-dynamic practices the old vines were nursed back to health and only a small percentage of the vineyard was re-planted, mostly to Syrah and Mourvedre. Yields are kept at a very low 24 to 28 hectoliters per hectare, and the percentage of wine matured in barrels never exceeds 20% of the total. These are stylish wines of intensity, depth and grace that possess natural balance and moderate alcohol levels with no undue heaviness or extract.
Chateau
Montaiguillon
In 1949 Abel Rigou, a wine producer and cognac distiller from St – Martin d’Ary purchased Montaiguillon . The chateau has been home for 4 generations, in this time the family have perfected the art of wine production and vine growing. Although the wine is produced with great precision (thermoregulation), it is still well grounded in tradition, as it matures for at least one year in their pristine oak barrels, which are renewed every three years. This process results in a powerful, delicate ad aromatic wine, which has earned great success and impeccable reputation. The chateau is a property of st George -Emilion. The neighbours with Cheval Blanc, VCC and Chateau Petrus who are just over the Barbanne stream. Th vineyard is at an outstanding position, this is noticeably clear when you taste merlot heavy Claret that comes from Chateau Montaiguillon. Mathieu Ternault is doing an excellent job, by taking over the reins of Chantelle who produced some of the excellent vintages.
