Meet Our Sommelier Emerson Garcia-Velasquez


Emerson is an experienced Global Head Sommelier leading wine teams at fine dining or Michelin starred restaurants, He is personable, passionate and has exceptional wine knowledge. As Senior Sommelier who is his own brand, he advocates for an approachable friendly wine experience to everyone. Emerson is doing a PhD on Wine within Pharmacy and Bimolecular science research in the subject of Wine Authentication, certification and Quality, with the Liverpool John Moores University.

A Little bit of our Event chef Rangana Gunawardena in his own words:


“I qualified as a chef in the UK 25 years ago. While I was a junior chef I worked in both, European and English kitchens. With the skills and assets I acquired in such a short space of time, I realised that I could broaden my horizons by developing capabilities to cook a wider range of dishes from all over the world. To accomplish this goal, I began working and learning in Mexican, Caribbean, Singaporean, Thai, Sri Lankan and Italian kitchens. 
Years on, my ability to put together all types of cuisine have greatly enhanced, as well as my passion for making a wide range of fine desserts continuous to flourish on a daily basis where I currently work, as an executive head chef.”

Sweet and spicy prawn curry served with lemongrass rice.
(North Atlantic Tiger prawns cooked in a Homewood's special curry sauce)
 Soya and Ginger duck. with noodle.
(Duck marinated in Homewood's special blend ginger and spices)
 Pear and Cinnamon Eaton mess.
(Pears poached in Homewood's cinnamon and red wine arranged in to a luxury Eaton mess)
